BAD AXE, MI -- In order to adhere to the guideline of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Huron County Royalty Program has been revised to the Huron County 4-H Ambassador Court Program.As a land grant university, Michigan State University receives federal assistance and as such, must ensure that no person shall, on the basis of gender, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.

Understanding that the long tradition of Fair 4-H King and Queen and the emotional ties that come with this tradition, a committee of adult and youth 4-H Council Members has met to design an Ambassador program which will take into account some of the aspects of Huron County's Royalty Program.The committee has proposed three (3) tiers of the Ambassador County Program:Senior Level Ambassador Court - Junior Level Ambassador Court - Cloverbud Ambassador Court.

The Senior and Junior Ambassador Tiers will take into account the members active participation in Huron County's 4-H along with the ability to take on commitments and responsibilities, as well as being a positive representative of Huron County. There will be three (3) Ambassadors chosen and recognized at the Senior and Junior Tiers.Cloverbud Ambassadors will be recognized as they have been in the past, all are encouraged to join.

The committee encourages 4-H youth of our county to participate in this competitive program. Application packets have been emailed out to 4-H Families and are also available at the MSU Extension Office (located within the Health Department Complex) at 1142 S. Van Dyke, Suite 200, in Bad Axe. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and open during the noon hour.
