CLARE, MI -- MSU Extension will be hosting a multiple pasture walk for persons interested in grassfed beef production on Monday June 22, starting at 6 p.m. The pasture walks will be held in two locations of Woodland Farms near Clare, MI.
Attendees will learn about grassfed cattle and how they are managed and marketed, learn of hay production practices to make quality hay for grassfed cattle, and see over 3,200 feet of above ground water lines to improve pasture grazing. A picnic-type meal will be provided along with some refreshments.
Participants are asked to meet at 6 p.m. at 9720 S. Cornwell Ave, Clare, MI 48617. The first location will provide viewing of the yearling grassfed cattle. Participants will travel with the group to the second location at 5061 E. Herrick Road, Clare, MI 48617 to view the beef cowherd and their calves.
