DEERFIELD, MI -- A pre-harvest field meeting will be held at the Michigan State University Extension Wheat Variety Trial located in Lenawee County.This meeting will be held on Thursday, June 18, at 1:30pm.

There are 93 red and white wheat varieties in the trial this year.This meeting is open to all area farmers and is free of charge.The plot is located on Hoagland Road, just north of Holloway Road, north of Deerfield, MI.

Another wheat field day will be held on the MSU campus on Wednesday, June 17.This program will run from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and is free of charge, thanks to the support of the wheat check-off program, Michigan Crop Improvement Association and Michigan State University.

To ensure there are enough handout materials, lunch and wagon space, farmers are asked to RSVP by 5 p.m. of Thursday, June 11 by calling 888-WHEAT01 (888-943-2801).
