LANSING, MI -- The 2015 MSU nutrient management update and plot tour will be hosted by the MSU Extension on September 9 at the Plant Pathology farm at 3735 North College Road, Lansing, MI 48910. It will highlight the MSU nutrient management research program conducted by Dr. Kurt Steinke, MSU Extension specialist.
The tour will provide opportunities to examine research plots and participate in group discussion and presentations concerning profitable crop production and environmental stewardship. Attendees will be able to investigate topics ranging from cover crops and soil health to 4R nutrient management and nitrogen management strategies across multiple cropping systems. A delicious outdoor cookout lunch will be served in between the morning and afternoon sessions and will provide ample opportunities for camaraderie with fellow growers and friends.
Pre-registration for the tour is available on-line using credit card or check and costs $45 per person, which includes lunch, refreshments, tour, and handouts. Online registration can be found at http://events.anr.msu.edu/NMU.Registration is limited to the first 100 applicants.
