LANSING, MI -- The results of the 2015 SMaRT (Soybean Management and Research Technology) on-farm research projects and other related soybean research will be presented at the 2016 SMaRT meetings. Participants will also learn about the future direction of Michigan soybean checkoff-funded research. Ample time has been provided for questions, comments and discussion.

All programs will begin at 8:45 a.m. and end with a complimentary lunch. The Michigan soybean checkoff program is covering all costs. However, preregistration is requested to ensure an accurate count for lunch and materials. Please call the Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee (MSPC) office to register at 877.769.6424 before Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, and provide your name, phone number, meeting location and the number of people attending.

The agenda for this program has been approved for two pesticide applicator recertification credits and begins with the 2015 SMaRT On-farm Research Trial Results by Mike Staton, MSU Extension Soybean Educator. Dr. Chris DiFonzo, MSU Extension Field Crop Entomologist, will be talking on Seed Treatment Effects on Yield, Income and the Environment and Ned Birkey, Spartan Agricultural Consulting LLC, will discuss Agronomic Management Practices of the Top Yielding Farms in the Michigan Soybean Yield Contest. The program concludes with lunch, courtesy of the MSPC.
