NorthStar Cooperative recently elected eight members to the NorthStar Advisory and Resolutions Committee.

The 24-member committee comprised of dairy producers from Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin provides input regarding resolutions to the Cooperative’s bylaws. Committee members are elected by member-stockowners in their district and serve for a two-year term.

Six members from Michigan were re-elected to the Advisory and Resolutions Committee. Duane Moloek of Falmouth has served on the committee since 1998 and operates End Road Farm, a 170-cow Holstein herd. Serving as a member for 16 years, Mike Wardin of Saginaw and his family, operate Wardin Brothers, a 160-cow Holstein herd. Larry Haywood of Hastings was re-elected for his third term on the committee. Along with his family, Haywood operates Sand Creek Dairy LLC, a 1,100-cow Holstein herd.

Hank Choate of Cement City has served on the Advisory and Resolutions Committee for over 17 years, and operates Choate’s Belly Acres, a 370-cow herd. Dale Phillips of Marlette has served on the Advisory and Resolutions Committee since 2015. Philips and his family operate Phillips Farm, a 100-cow Holstein herd. Serving on the Committee for his eighth term, Gary Palosaari operates an 80-cow Holstein herd.

Two Wisconsin dairy producers were also re-elected to the Committee. A member of the Advisory and Resolutions Committee since 2007, Jack Banker of Black Creek, along with his family, operates Bankers Scenic-View Farms, an 800-cow Holstein herd.

Joe Meyer of Unity was re-elected for his fifth term on the committee. Meyer and his family operate Badger Holsteins, a 2,400-cow Holstein herd.
