EAST LANSING, MI – The Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation (MDMSF) has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships to 34 Michigan State University (MSU) students pursuing dairy industry-related programs of study for the 2016-17 academic year.

The following 11 MSU students were awarded $3,500 scholarships from the Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation:

• Alycia Burch, animal science junior from Jeddo

• Alyssa Gehring, agribusiness management junior from Harbor Beach

• Natalie Horning, agriculture, food and natural resources education senior from Manchester

• Suzanna Hull, animal science senior from North Adams

• Torei Kulpinski, animal science senior from Coldwater

• Ellen Launstein, animal science junior from Mason

• Jack Luoma, animal science junior from East Leroy

• Jorin Ouwinga, agribusiness management senior from McBain

• Emily Peacock, animal science senior from Morley

• Hailey Sharrard, animal science junior from Peck

• Jared Sanderson, animal science junior from Sandusky

Six students pursuing a two-year certificate in the MSU Institute of Agricultural Technology each earned $2,000 scholarships from the Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation:

• Shelby Berens, sophomore in dairy management from Holland

• Erica Drake, sophomore in dairy management from Ann Arbor

• Mason Horning, freshman in agricultural industries from Manchester

• Evelyn Okkema, sophomore in dairy management from Blanchard

• Devon Rosebrugh, freshman in dairy management from West Branch

• Mason Smith, sophomore in dairy management from Homer

Five first-year students were awarded the Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation Freshman Scholarships worth $1,500:

• Austin Haywood, animal science freshman from Hastings

• Madeline Meyer, animal science freshman from Ionia

• Leta Larsen, agribusiness management freshman from Scottville

• Allison Schafer, agribusiness management freshman from Westphalia

• Margaret Snyder, food science freshman from Kalamazoo

The Michigan Dairy Memorial and Scholarship Foundation oversees the largest scholarship program in the MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and one of the largest at MSU.
