Archbold, OH – On Saturday, October 21 Sauder Village guests can have fun in the past while also learning valuable information about how to lead a healthy and safe lifestyle.
Again this year, health and safety professionals from throughout the region will gather at Sauder Village for the annual Community Health Day featuring informational displays, health screenings, door prizes and much more! October 21 is also Fulton County Appreciation Day – with free admission for all residents of Fulton County! “We are pleased to have so many community organizations joining us for our Community Health Day again this year,” shared Kim Krieger, Media Relations.
“This special event offers guests an opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled day at Ohio’s largest living-history destination while also learning important wellness information.” The 2017 Community Health/Fulton County Day is being sponsored by the Fulton County Health Center.
Representatives from the following departments at Fulton County Health Center will be on hand to share information throughout the day: diabetes education, endoscopy, behavioral health, obstetrics, oncology, radiology, sleep lab and wound care. Hospital representatives also have many screenings planned throughout the day including Derma Scan, blood glucose and blood pressure checks, heel Dexa Scan and carotid screenings.
While visiting the Historic Village, guests will also be able to explore a variety of fire and rescue vehicles, learn about train safety, poison control, and drug/alcohol/gambling addictions.
Local agencies will share information about college programs, adult/child services, home health care, trauma services, health/safety equipment and mental health services. Free child finger printing will be offered throughout the day by local law enforcement and many organizations will be offering special prizes throughout the day.
Special thanks to the many local agencies that are helping to make this event possible: Fulton County Health Center, Hands of Grace, Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio, Ohioans Home Healthcare, Fulton County Health Department and Fulton County Fireman’s Association/EMS, Police Departments and Sheriff’s Office.
Other local partners include Operation Lifesaver, Fairlawn Retirement Community, Four County Family Center, Recovery Services of NW Ohio, OSU Extension and Sara’s Garden. Tri State Medical Supply, Lutheran Social Services, Fulton County Job & Family Services, Northwest State Community College, University of Toledo Medical Center, and Four County ADAMhs Board will also be participating in Community Health Day.
October 21 is also Fulton County Appreciation Day. As a non-profit organization, Sauder Village understands the importance of giving back to the community.
Free admission is being offered to all Fulton County residents on this special day thanks to event sponsor, Fulton County Health Center.
The County Days events have been a great way to encourage people in local communities to visit and see all the changes that have taken place over the years. All Fulton County, Ohio residents are invited to attend this special event for free (with valid ID) on Saturday, October 21.
Some of the other special events planned this fall at Sauder Village include Explore the Crafts on October 28 and 31st Annual Woodcarver’s Show & Sale on October 28 and 29. Reservations are also being taken for the always-popular Holiday Lantern Tours – “A 1920s Christmas” to be held November 25, December 2, 8 and 9.
Historic Sauder Village is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and each Sunday afternoon from noon-4:00 p.m.
The Historic Village is closed on Mondays, except holidays. Admission is $17.00 for adults and $11.00 for students ages 6-16. Children 5 and under are always free with family and Sauder Village members receive free admission to the Historic Village for an entire year. Senior, Military and AAA discounts are also available. And again this year, children 16 and under are free every Sunday this season!
