Fun, free events offered at the Fulton County Fair

WAUSEON, OH -- If there's one goal the organizers of the Fulton County Fair have each year, it's for as many people to enjoy the Fair as possible! That's why they make sure a wide variety of attractions are free of charge and plan events for fairgoers of all ages.

Live Music

One of the highlights of any Fair is live music. The Fulton County Fair boasts three free concerts and a variety of ongoing entertainment at the South Stage throughout the week.On Saturday, September 5, the Van-Dells take the stage with their unique blend of comedy, choreography and tight harmonies of popular 50s and 60s tunes. Sunday evening features the Oswald Brothers at the Fair's new Christian Music Building. This young trio of brothers are rising stars in Christian music and eager to share their positive message with Fulton County. Then on Thursday evening, fairgoers can sway along with soul-singing sensations, The Shades of Blue, who are returning to the 2015 Fair by popular demand.

Women's Day Demonstrations

Women of all ages look forward to Wednesday of Fair when the Fulton County Assoc. of Ohio Homemakers and Community Education and Extension Service sponsors a half day of demonstrations geared for women.Starting at 1 p.m., this year's demonstrations include a presentation on the Native American Culture including customs and dress. There will be flower arranging, tips and information regarding safety, all wrapped up with a fashion show.

Special Admission Days

The 2015 Fulton County Fair offers admission specials throughout the week, starting on Saturday, September 5 with Veterans' Day. All veterans and their spouses receive free admission until 6 p.m. There is also a free ham and bean dinner for veterans and their families on Saturday at 12 p.m. Tuesday, September 8 is Junior Fair Day. All school children are admitted free until 6 p.m. Tuesday evening with special ride pricing from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Wednesday, September 9, all citizens age 65 and over are admitted free to the grounds until 6 p.m.

Harness Racing

Fairgoers can trot on over to the Grandstand for Harness Racing, a fan-favorite and long-time tradition of the Fulton County Fair. This free event takes place twice during the 7-day Fair – Saturday, September 5 at 12:30 p.m. and Tuesday, September 8 at 6 p.m. Pari-Mutuel wagering will be available both days.

Regular gate admission to the Fulton County Fair is $5 per person and includes free parking.Children 15 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.Money-saving season tickets may be purchased for $15 prior to the Fair from 4-H and service clubs, at the Fair office, or at area businesses. Season tickets are available at the gate Friday and Saturday of Fair for $20.Gate or free admission does not include ticketed shows.
