Harvest Fest 2015 offers fun for the whole family

CASSOPOLIS, MI —Breathe deeply, and you can almost imagine the cool, crisp autumn days that are about to be upon us; what better way to enjoy those vibrant colors of nature than spending an afternoon with us at Dr. T.K. Lawless Park during our Harvest Fest celebration! Bring your family and meet your friends this very special time of year.

We are very excited to invite the community to join the Cass County Parks and Recreation Department and The Friends of the Cass County Parks as we turn our attention to the beauty and bounty of autumn in Southwest Michigan.

This year's Harvest Fest will be held at Dr. T.K. Lawless Park on Saturday, Oct. 3, from noon-3 p.m. Admission to the celebration is $3 per person which will include a pumpkin and all activities (children two years and younger are FREE of charge). For those with large families, we are also offering a very special admission charge of $10 per carload.

As in years past, this family event promises to offer something for everyone… from the young, to the young at heart – with a few surprises added in. Among other things, plans include an inflated 22' slide, face painting, games and crafts, pumpkin painting, wagon rides, Arden Wither's Choo-Choo Train Ride, music, and – new this year – a model airplane demonstration at 2 p.m. (weather permitting).

Looking forward to the 22-foot inflatable slide; smiles on young and old as they zip downward are always priceless. You're never too old to enjoy a good slide! As always, a bag of treats will be the reward for those youngsters who participate in the Harvest Fest activities, and The Friends of the Cass County Parks will be providing plenty of good food for hungry families to purchase. Come join the fun and discover the beauty of Southwest Michigan and your Cass County Parks during Harvest Fest 2015… we would love to see you there!
