CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN -- Bane-Welker Equipment, LLC took part in the bill signing of Senate Bill 308 at the Statehouse on Friday, April 8. In addition, Bane-Welker provided a Case IH tractor representing the farming industry and illustrating the significance of the farmland property tax reduction bill.

The bill signing took place at 11 a.m. on Friday and many farmers and families were on hand to witness the signing.  The bill provides much needed relief from farmland tax hikes, which between 2007 and 2015, increased more than any other class of property. The bill is estimated to reduce property-tax burden on farmers by almost $50 Million in 2018 alone.  Crawfordsville’s own Representative Tim Brown sponsored the bill.

“I am thankful I was able to be a part of this important day,” stated Phil Bane, CEO of Bane-Welker Equipment. “The cold, cloudy day couldn’t keep all of the supporters of this bill away and it was a good day for our friends who own farmland.”
