Kern, Lesicko promoted at Ohio Farm Bureau
COLUMBUS, OH -- Brandon Kern has been named senior director of policy outreach for Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. In this newly created position, he will provide leadership for the organization’s efforts to develop closer relationships and provide support to rural communities, the food system and consumers. The inclusion of these groups within the public policy work of Farm Bureau will serve to broaden and strengthen the organization’s service to its members.
Kern joined Ohio Farm Bureau in 2013 as director of state policy. He formerly held various policy and legislative positions with the Ohio Senate Majority Caucus, several state senators and for the office of former U.S. Sen. George Voinovich. He is a graduate of Wright State University with a bachelor’s degree in social sciences. He is active in his local community and currently serves in the U.S. Army Reserve. Kern and his wife, Amie, are the parents of three children.
Yvonne Lesicko has been named vice president, public policy for Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. She will be responsible for managing the organization’s policy development process and its legislative, regulatory, political and legal activities at the federal, state and local levels. She has been OFBF’s senior director of legislative and regulatory policy since 2012.
She succeeds Adam Sharp, who was recently named the organization’s new executive vice president.
Lesicko first served on the Farm Bureau public policy team in the mid-1990s. She also was director of government relations for Cincinnati Bell Telephone. She received a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College and a master’s degree in public administration from Ohio State University. She is a past president of the Ohio Lobbying Association and has been active with the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Ohio Commodores and Girl Scouts Alumnae Association. Lesicko was raised on a Huron County grain farm where her family also operated a seed processing plant. She and her husband, Scott, have a son.
