Allen County Fair offers opportunities
FORT WAYNE, IN -- The Allen County Fair is July 24-July 29, 2018 at the fairgrounds on Carroll Road.
Adults (ages 18 and older) may participate in the:
- Fashion Show – Judging July 12, Public Review July 24. Registration deadline July 6.
- Open Class Exhibits – Entry July 23, Release July 29 - $ 2.00 per entry
Foods, Food Preservation, Clothing Construction, Houseplants, Flower Arranging, Wreaths, Garden Produce, Arts and Crafts, Wall Hangings, Christmas Decorations, Ceramics, Fine Arts, Fiber Arts, Needlework, Paper Art/Craft, Photography, Quilts and Sewing

Home and Family Arts Day programs on Wednesday, July 25 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm:
10am - “Metamorphosis In Your Own Backyard,” by Karen Hinshaw, Purdue Extension HHS Educator
11am - “Know the O Facts: Understanding the Opioid Use Disorder,” by Molly Hoag, Purdue Extension
1pm - “Explore Allen County,” by Visitor’s Bureau
2pm - “Music from Mark Turney”
3pm - Pie Baking Contest and Auction – single crust, double crust, lattice top crust (1 pie per person)
Home & Family Arts Day Meal, 5pm to 7pm in the Home & Family Arts Building. Prepared by Allen County Extension Homemakers. Menu offers BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, coleslaw, potato chips, and choice of dessert featuring cake, cookies or cupcakes. Beverages of coffee, iced tea, lemonade and water will also be served. Adults, $10 and children (10 and under) $5.
Profits for the meal will be used for Open Class backdrop expenses and Allen County Extension Homemaker budget. 15% income paid to the Allen County Fairgrounds.
