Soil fertility program offered in Cass County

CASSOPOLIS, MI -- The Cass County Conservation District and the MAEAP program are excited to announce the presentation of a Soil Fertility Workshop, given by A&L Great Lakes Laboratories. The workshop will be held Thursday, March 14, 2019, from 11 a.m.-3p.m. at Mosier Well Drilling, 21867 M-60 East, Cassopolis MI. The workshop will include lunch. There is no fee, but donations are accepted.
A&L Laboratories has become a premier resource for accurate testing using the latest technologies and analytic capabilities. Testing includes a wide variety of sample matrices including soils, plants, feed, fertilizer, manures, and composts.
The workshop will be presented and facilitated by David Henry. David has been an agronomist with A&L Great Lakes since 2014 and has earned a B.S in Environmental Science and an M.S in Soil Science, both from the Ohio State University. David also is a Certified Crop Advisor, bringing a diverse set of expertise in agricultural systems to A&L.
The program will count as a phase 1 credit towards verification in the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP), a statewide program facilitated through county Conservation Districts designed to reduce and eliminate potential environmental risks on farmsteads, and in cropping, livestock, and forestry operations.
